I need some assistance.
While driving home i had a bang from the rear near side wheel and then what sounded like something rubbing on the tyre. My abs warning light and hand brake light both came on on the dashboard and on the centre console it said warning abs fault.. i have had a quick look under the back ( be it in the dark with a torch ) but cannot see anything loose etc.
Looking in the haynes manual it says the sensor is held in with a bolt? Could it be this has come loose and fell into the stubshaft?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: abs fault
My first suspicion is that some debris on the road came into contact with the rear hub making a bang noise and managed to simultaneously slice your abs cable. But thats only a guess. Id begin by jacking up the car and spinning the wheel, listen for the rubbing sound and try and pin point the scource of it. On the other hand, something could have given inside the drum and made a complete mess of things in there? Your problem should be easy enough to get to the bottom of when it's bright

Re: abs fault
Been out to it this morning and jacked it up and the wheel is wobbling. What could cause that i know it could be wheel bearings but looking on service box looks like there is only two other parts bottom bush and the tie rod is that correct??
Re: abs fault
the bottom bush would wanna be pretty badly gone before it caused the wheel to wobble while just shaking it by hand. The upper stabiliser link on the other hand is different. If the ball joint is gone on the upper link then this would certainly cause a noticeable wobble in the wheel. If either of these are gone it should be easy to tell which one it is by getting someone to wobble the wheel while you keep your eye on the bush or ball joint. None of these problems would explain the abs fault
Re: abs fault
I jacked up the car last night when i got in from work and it looks like the wheel bearing has collapsed? Would this still bring up an abs sensor error??

The ABS ring is attached to the rear wheel bearing.
I'll take a photo of mine in the morning and you'll see what i mean.
