coolent tempreture sensor

Hello, ive just got my hands on a 406 2.1 td. its got that revving issue, revs up and down its self, then revs go right up and rev counter goes made when it happens..

Ive changed the throttle position sensor and made no differance, my next idea is to change the coolent temp sensor were is this located please and what colour is it and how many pins???/

The one you're after is located in the side of the cylinder head, green sensor on your right as you look at it.
