well i bought one of those nasty amplifies windscreen aerials, quickly wired it up to car battery and left it hanging over the bonnet and my radio picked up everything :)
as soon as i wired it into the car all neat and tidy, my radio is back to normal picking up local stations only and loosing them. gonna try once more and buy a new aerial coax and do a clean install of the stock roof aerial.
i have a new

aerial base fitted
signal amplifier under this is new and fitted

4mt of aerial lead to buy from local car shop with fittings £4.99
also got an inline signal amplifier to wire in.

anyone any other suggestions ?
