Finding the build code from the VIN

Anybody know how?

My lad has picked up a cheap 206 HDi, (which has been patched up following a relatively minor front-end ding), but I can't find the build code for PP2000 access. It worked reasonably OK with the 8407 example PP2000 displays, but I assume there must be a straightforward way of cross-referencing it from the VIN.

I guess you can find it via Servicebox, put in the VIN then go on characteristics (translated from ita) and then guess it from the value in N° APV/PR
Mine is 08761 *** and I guess 8761 is my build code?

just checked and yes, it is right. I wonde what the numbers I hidden in the ** are.

* le véhicule a été fabriqué dans l'usine dont le code est 88, qui correspond à l'usine de Mulhouse
* le véhicule a été fabriqué sur la ligne de montage 4
* le véhicule fabriqué est le 0158-ième véhicule fabriqué ce jour sur cette ligne de montage.

The ** is the factory it was assembled in - mine is 89 - Sochaux.
