Fancy a 607?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-PEUGEOT- ... 1e687cb1d4
and also at
http://www.tdmotors.co.uk/auction_detai ... tion_id=59

They look pretty nice, although this one has the poverty-spec mfd and somewhat excessive wood-effect.
Presumably the 2.2 will succumb to a doggy de-fap?

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Thats dirt cheap for such a big car, there is actually quite a few 607s round these parts all in some colour of blue.
I like the interior of them a lot, really luxurious and solid feeling, but the outside is a bit unusual

did the 607 ever sell with the v6 hdi over here?

Very nice. They're my Dad's favourite 5 Series. Personally though, I find the 525i a better all rounder & those double sunroofs are notoriously unreliable - proved by the fact that this one is knackered - & very expensive to fix.

I just like this version of the 5 series i also think it was the best, though here is something completely different:

£20,000 sounds expensive, but for a rally car its actually quite cheap.

Then the 505, there seems to be quite a few in australia, only just realising that they drive on the correct side of the road:

That's only 30 miles up the road from me too.

Something more appropriate to this site a cheap 406 hdi estate:

"slight bump in tailgate"? If that's a "slight bump" I'd hate to think what his idea of a minor whoopsie would be!

"needs re-gassing" = something expensive needs replacing

150k, £600 = clutch on its last legs, probably cambelt change required too

Funnily enough I usually think the same when I see that in an advert. If a regas was all that was needed, you'd get it done as it's usually less than £50 & it makes the car easier to sell.

May not be the more sought after HDi, but this looks like really good value:

Hmm going to have to get myself a '6 estate in next 6 months or so so we can go on honeymoon... Cheaper than rental and less stripsearchy than flying

Hoping I can find a suitable top trim pre-COM2000 D9, hdi90/136 or v6 for peanuts - something knackered but not too expensive to repair myself given enough time. Otherwise I'll just buy a £300 1.9/2.1DT and spend the time trying to get the stench out of the seats and carpet

its still cheap for an exec though, and if the clutch had to be done, it would be the perfect time to go on and take the engine out, do the timing belt, clean out the exhaust, check all the pipes are good, do the engine mounts, and a solid flywheel conversion. From the pictures the rest of the car looks in fairly good condition.

Assuming it's just been properly serviced, nothing else is wrong with the car, you don't break anything fixing it, and all it needs is a cambelt, engine mounts, clutch and flywheel, you're still looking an easy £500 providing for that you use 2nd hand parts for the aircon.

I was actually putting some thought into it as a project for next year's trip (and as a keeper when the missus passes her test), but although it's cheap (not outstandingly cheap!) there's the cream interior which would need replacing because it's naff  and the cost of doing the work... It'd also cost a fortune to get to Aberdeen to buy it  I'll keep looking...
