will 14 inch wheels fit a 406

i have a diesel 406 and loads of realy good 14 tires -so will 14 inch peu wheels fit the 406 anyone know phill

I'm guessing they wouldn't clear the calipers but (unless someone actually knows) the only way you'll know for sure is if you try one.

Thats what I would do, rather than talk about it for hours, slip a wheel off and try one on. But if I was a betting man, I would say no, and agree with Steve.

My very first 406 was a 96 1.8 LX & it had 14ins wheels with either 195 or 185/65 x 14 tyres. I'd advise against fitting them if the car had 15ins as standard though.

Also, it'll look silly with roller-skate wheels on. 15in wheels look small enough as it is.

I will have a set of 16in Hoggars for sale shortly... need to check the tyre treads first to see what they're like

IIRC the 406s that came with 14" wheels were only ever the low spec D8s, and then maybe just the 1.8 petrol like my first one. They had 260mm front discs hence the smaller wheels will fit. Most other 406s had 283mm front discs and 15" wheels, 14" wheels won't fit over those calipers.
