priming bulb

what would cause the primer bulb to go (semi) soft overnight? how does this cause poor starting? and how would I cure it? 2.1 td.

air getting into the fuel pipes, check the bulb itself, the leak off pipes on the injectors (and the pip) and the fuel pipes.
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!
