if the shafts dont look new, go and have words with him,

iirc New shafts come with the gaiters on ready assembled, if hes used cable ties that says to me
hes just replaced the cv joints and gaiters, cable tied them with the drive shaft still in,

or worst case scenario, new gaiters and plonked aload of grease in, (old back street Garage Trick)

icouid be wrong tho,
went back to garage today gave me a full refund he must be guilty

Shot in the Dark here, :arrowd:
check the Ball joint,
no other symptoms really just a slight drone
could the ball joint cause the car to vibrate at speed

Youd be best off Jacking the car up,.
one hand at 12oclock one at 6 and see if theres any play,

if not then, take wheel off, get a bar, and place it between the wishbone and the hub, check for any play in the Ball joint,
check the Track-rod end too,
also wish bone bushes,

or have it checked the lazy way,
drive into kwik thick or the simalar and let them check it free of charge, theyl find the fault and you just repare it yourself,

Drop links won't cause too much of an issue, knocking at most. I drove for two weeks with no droplinks at all and the ARB tie wrapped up to keep it away from moving objects.
Car handled like a boat though!

General rule is...
Play at the 12 O'clock - 6o'clock position means Ball joint, bushes, wheel bearing.
Play at the 3o'clock - 9 o'clock position means track rod ends, track rods, steering rack and wheel bearing.
Play everywhere means it's a wheel bearing, drone also is the sign of a wheel bearing.

Spin the wheel and see if it sounds smooth.
I'd find a reputal garage and just give it to them, tell them whatever they change on one side to change on the other. Only real reason is if a ball join, bush or wheel bearing fails you are in big trouble. Better safe than sorry. Get it professionally diagnosed and fixed.

Hasn't this car just had new driveshafts fitted?
This would involve removing the ball joints and hub nut, any play/wear would surely have been noticed, especially as the car has just had the mot done.

I very much doubt if there is anything wrong with the steering or suspension!

BTW, have the TYRES been looked at yet?

yes tyres are remoulds but with plenty of tread left have swapped the fronts for the backs but still the same
i normally use a pug specilist but he only opens a few days a week now so find it difficult in getting to work without a car as i work 40 iles from home
might have to use a sickie
there is asmall drone new ns lower ball joint was fitted when shafts done but not os they also mentioned gearbox bearing can`t see it been that cos problem only on os of car.
could new droplinks have pressure on an alreadyworn wheelbearing and balljoint
car has now covered a quarter of a million miles engine still sweet
just come back from a decent run there is alot of knocking from front right even when going on motorway im hoping its not to serious no funds to fix at this mo
