Hi,
As well as my documented Engine oil leak (in quest of increased fuel efficiency, opting for too thin an oil!!!) the car is loosing PAS fluid. The rate must be quite slow but when I topped it all up and exercised the steering, the juddering went all was well. Can I put in any sort of leak stopping agent and do they work? What PAS gubbins live down on the steering rack and do they leak often. The inner track rod was replaced recently - is it possible to damage the PAS system in fitting this part?

The Stuff dont work mate it just pisses back out on the Road,
your best option is to find the source of the leak and Repair it, these Miracle cures in bottles are a waste of money in my honest opinion, but if you wanted to Gamble £5 -£6 give it a try,
Worst case scenario, the seal may have failed within the Rack, press on one of the Gaiters on the rack to see if you can hear/feel any presence of fluid,
ihad this happen on a ford i ended up changing the full rack,

Cheers, these gaiters, are they the ones covering the inner track rods or are there other ones buried further in?

Affraid i'll have to agree with Lozz here. When my HDI110 was loosing power steering fluid, the only cure that worked was to find the leaky pipe and replace it.
How bad is this leak? Any drips on the drive or other regular parking area? The other thing about these leaks is that they only ever get worse, so its best to sort it.

Ive had a few cars where the power steering fluid as Disapeared,
couidnt see any leaks, as they where leaking into the Gaiters, the ones inwards to the rack,
squeeze them and if theres a seal gone in the Rack you will feel /hear the fluid squelch or piss out the Gaiter,
ive never had one go on a peugeot,. its mainly been Nissan /ford that ive had them fail.
placing apeice of cardboard under the car whilst its parked up is a good way of finding areas of where there leaking too,

The pipe which travels through the front panel (to where
the PAS oil is cooled behind the front bumper) can corrode in its rubber sleeve or rubbing.
Its pretty easy to change with 1/2 inch bore low pressure hydralic hose and some jubilee clips.
Its a bit hidden however, and a replacement pipe would probably mean taking the engine out!
It travels from under the bumper and all the way back to the bulkhead and down towards the rack.
