In hindsight, that is my perfect 406. If the HDi went bang tomorrow then that's what I'd be after. The HDi has put in a good performance over 90k and 6 years, but the electrics will kill it eventually, and with the water leak this may be sooner rather than later.

I was planning getting a second 406 to play with -- I'm too nervous to mess about with my daily drive -- but since I moved I don't have space :(

btw, I was just looking at your strut brace :)
Hangar18 threw NollingtonHard's 406 round the roundabout and the conclusion we both immediately reached was: must get a strut brace.
Don't forget that his is lowered aswell. But if you're planning on getting the brace, best person to contact is Ade1122 on the coupe club. He usually has them for sale on Ebay, but sometimes gives discounts to club members & he's bound to have a brace available.

Not a car for sale, but I still think this is a bargain & I'm contemplating a day trip to High Wycombe to get it done:

The paintless dent removal alone would probably cost me that, although when I phoned them the guy did say that Peugeots can be very difficult to get the dents out of, but they can usually improve them a fair bit.

Just a pity nobody closer to home offers the same service.

Very tempted at the mo. He reckons it's usually a day & a half, but said they could probably do it in a day. Bearing in mind how much the PDR would cost for me to have done (seeing as most people charge per dent) I'm actually considering hiring a car for a day so I can drive mine up, pick up the hire car & swap back the next day. Would much rather give them plenty of time to do the best job possible than have it rushed.

I'll be watching that with interest as it'll give me a good indication of what I could expect to get for mine in a private sale. Trade in is probably £1000 tops.

In all honesty I prefer white. Not a big fan of metallic paint. White & non-metallic red (as long as it isn't faded pinky red) are my favourites.

Yep I never thought about it until I moved to Scotland for the early to mid 2000s, and was able to see 51, 53, 04 plated C15s!

Also '51 plated Escort vans too.

Always a soft spot for the C15. Saw one this morning must have been a local tradesman.

Dad had one for a week as a courtesy car while his BX was in getting work done. Full of character those old vans.
