insurance groups

can you guys let me know what group the hdi 90 and the 110 is , my 1.8 petrol was group 10 so i need it to be about the same (lower would be better)

cos the search is on for my replacement 406

You can have my wheels for £300 and thats m8s rates.

The HDi 110 is group 11/12 costs me £605 for mine, 3yrs NCD and 30yrs old living in Washington which is group E on an A-F (lowest to Highest) Insurance Bracket.

I think the 90 is 9/10. But no way would I buy a 90, if you do, you def need it remapped.

JUst had a look on Parkers.co.uk

HDI 90 group 10/11 or 12 depending on Spec and Sat Nav
HDI 110 group 12/13 depeding on Spec and Sat Nav

Apparently, if you have Sat Nav your insurance is less because you are less likely to crash whilst looking at maps and the like.

Nope according to Parkers if you have Sat Nav your insurance is an extra group higher. As it might get nicked.

I haven't got a clue about the insurance industry but was bored and thought I would respond, however useless it may be (which it was)

My theory though, is an excellent one..... you have to agree with that

Oh, I pay £196.00 fully comp for my top of the range HDi 110 which has the range topping 110 BHP engine which delivers all it's range topping torque in one great big range topping splat (when it works).

£196.... hmm... 3 years NCB, 25yo, group 12 insurance for 406 2.1TD, living in rural areas - £360 from elephant. Not bad considering it was £850 when I first bought it (no NCB though - was on my parents insurance).

Where can find which band my area is in?

how come the pug 110 is group 13, when according to parkers the mondeo 2.0 130bhp is only group 9 how does that work

or is it on marked on style

the better it looks the higher the higher the group

Tis funny that, because years ago Pugs used to have really low groups compared to other cars but the 406 seems to be high

Group 11 or not, I got me renewal through today. £209 fully comp, NCB protected, courtesy car, date with Sandra Bullock etc, so can't really grumble. And that's from the AA, who i've been bad mouthing this past year for being so expensive!
