Oh ok, makes sense.

Sadly I seem to have torn the rubber boot. I just can't get any purchase on the tube. I'm contemplating reassembly and then getting the local (several miles away - this *is* a rural area) garage to have ago before I break something.

I've dealt with some seized calipers before - but this takes the biscuit.
If only I could get the caliper off without ruining the union nut.
Why did they use such a soft one?
Now if I can just fit the mods from "Taxi" http://tinyurl.com/3yug4g3

Ok,
So I've managed to shuffle the tube (lower caliper guide?) back and forth a few times using a clamp, a socket and a hub/pulley extractor.
I just need a few more mm and I can get the pads in...
