Bit of a shameless plug!

Post by Malachy »

I am in the middle of starting my own company with a friend supplying aftermarket ecus (megasquirts) these will be pre-built by us and setup to your car. All you will need to do is wire them in and get it mapped or map yourself using the supplied software.

we will be offering online support via msn + forums and email.

we plan to be able to offer a solution for all engine and applications
single cylinder upto 16 cylinder. With n/a applications or forced induction.
We can set the ecu up to run cam shifts used in VVTI/VTEC systems and the shift rpm will be fully programable by the user.

we can run all 3 main types of ecu setups (speed density/alpha-n and Hybrid alpha-n) this means all applications can and will be catered for.

As a rough guide price an ecu setup for a 4 cylinder engine will be £200 - £220 depending on settings needed for your engine.boost control wasted spark etc etc
This will include:

The ecu assembled and configured for your engines sensors.

A base map to get the engine running (you will need to tune this)

A short wiring harness to splice into your current loom (a full 12' harness can be supplied at cost)

All software for mapping/logging and setting up your ecu

Installation instructions, and tuning guide.

The ecu is capable of MANY things, launch control, nitrous control, staged injection, traction control, and many more if you want any info on the ecu and setup for you application feel free to either email me @ [email protected] or my collegue @ [email protected]

We will start trading in January but we will be able to offer advice and answer questions anytime.
We are both pretty knowledgable and have been in the tuning scene for quite a few years. and are both happy to advise you on anything.

eventually our plan (within the next 2 years) is to get a premisis in the south then fit a rolling road (there damn expensive £50k + fitting for a 1000bhp+ dynojet) setup a small machine shop and be able to offer drive in drive out conversions with mapping and also being able to manufacture exhausts, fmic's turbo conversions etc.

this is just step 1 in our grand plan haha

The website is not finished yet but the url is http://www.megasquirt-uk-ltd.co.uk

i am also able to be contacted on msn using the email supplied above.

Cheers Andy

Good luck with it mate.

Id like a remap but a full blown megasquirt is a bit complicated for me.

i'll take one please Andy... with complete (loom) wiring kit and base map... can you match the stock set up so I won't need to tune after install until a later date?

How much all in, with 406oc.co.uk discount of course :cheesy:

Also who is doing your site and are you paying for it?

Here are some of my design examples if you fancy giving me some more discount and I sort your site out for you :D

Let me know what you think :)

ok well just rough figures as we havent completly finalized our deals with bowling and grippo yet but we expect to be able to supply a ecu built and setup for a 4 cylinder wasted spark system for about £220-£230. this would include Mapable electronic boost control aswell for your turbo boys :0 The only real compatablity problem with the 406 engine is the idle control solenoid valve that the turbo uses, ms only really works properly with a 2 pin unit but thats easily obtained from a scrappy for a few £'s you can then run this closed loop, set what rpm you want to idle at and MS will maintain that all day long :) aslong as you have no vacuum leaks

the setup for the 406 will include

The ecu built to a high standard pcb cleaned and laquered supplied in either a brushed aluminium case or a anodised black case. (choice)

A short 30cm pigtail loom to splice into your current loom (a full 12 foot+ loom can be supplied at request for cost at a guess around an extra £30-£40) Including convulated tubing

A very general base map that will need tuning all the software needed to tune it,

A tuning guide.

coms cable

Setup guide for wiring

the ecu will be supplied with a "startup map" this map will only really be any good for you to get the engine running it will need tuning but this is pretty easy with a few hours work and the supplied software, however i would definatly reccomend wideband O2 if your tuning a turbo.

We are also in discusion with the guy who runs KnocksenseMS so we will be able to supply a Knock sesning kit for it aswell that will allow you to retard ignition and boost on detection of knock, then build it back up depending on how you map the knocksense. this will be roughly between £30 and £40.

and we are in discussion with innovate motorsports to supply wideband lambda kits these are supplied in the uk at the moment for about £150+ postage we think we should be able to supply them for £130+ postage possibly £120 depending on our deal.

We wont be offering much discount tbh since were running rock bottomn prices we plan to undercut everything in the uk and are having serious negotiotions with our suppliers to achieve this.

thje webpage is being built by my collegue who is a bit of a pc wiz and used to run a pc shop a few years back :)

anyways we wont be up and trading till january earlist we have lots of things to finalize and stock to get hold of.

a basic show of the store can be seen at

http://www.megasquirt-uk-ltd.co.uk/store

but it still needs the colours sorting, pictures adding and lots tbh :)

we wont be able to supply a fully tuned map since we wont have your car and we dont have a rolling road either however...

we have drawn up a buisiness plan and hopefully by 2008 we will have a premisis and will be able to offer drive in drive out megasquirt conversions, along with a small machine shop (lathe, mill, grinder, pipe bender, tig inverter) able to do pipe bending/welding etc so custom ic work and exhausts.

We plan to do more 1 off jobs than anything else say someone wants to tt there e30 325, thats our prime customer tbh as we will manufacture the manifolds etc on site. this is the field we want to work in :) its all a bit of a dream at the moment and this is just step one hopefully it will take off :)

we have already sorted the rolling road we want and have contacted dynojet and got a quote (just over £50k + fitting) which is very reasonable
this is it
here

its a really good dynoo in the fact it will allow us to control load site by rpm or load, just by clicking on the laptop you have while sat in the car this means it will make mapping so much easier over a normal inertia dyno faster and therefore cheaper :)

But your motor is tuned for stock power figures isn't it? So surely a copy of your map would surffice with a wideband o2 sensor ?

no my motor has
1.9 gti cam,
saab red injectors,
306 xsi throttle body
there are some other bits too but the large rinjectors would effect the map by quite a bit.

well i would guess atm its about 215-220 ish @1.2 bar i have no exact figures this is just guess work i havent had much of a chance to get it to a rr yet and have just live mapped it using egt and wideband

but this weekend the head is coming off and starting to do work for the 16v conversion, december i will be ordering my manifold and a GT28R from dp engineering and i will expect about 270-280 ish bhp then
