Oops, I misread your post.

When you said that you didn't trust your jack, I wrongly assumed that it was because you intended working on a jacked up car.

Good luck with the droplink change, the only other thing I can add is that the bush bolt has a groove running along its thread, and the washer has a tab that sits inside this groove, make sure they are correctly aligned when you try to pull the bolt out.

I was always told to get a new bolt for doing the top links as well
The bolt can be a right PITA seizing up
Peugeot themselves just cut them off and replace with a new bolt - info came from a mechanic who used to work at the local stealers

Hi
When i did my toplinks after you've finished the job put some coppaslip on the threads so that when it comes to replacing again the nuts come off a bit easier the back end of the car always ends up with loads of muck underneath . I agree that its a good idea to have a spare set of nuts & bolts even if you have to get them from the breakers. The nearest pug dealer is 25 miles from here so i always have a few spare nuts and bolts.. They also have a tendency to want to sell you bags of 10. When i did the rear shocks recently i phoned pug dealer and they said they couldn't supply small quantities...
