Re: Another bargain!
I paid £2850 for my Coupe in November, and I happen to think it was worth it.
Same goes for the £1800 I spent on the saloon back in 2007.

Re: Another bargain!
I did last year, 88,000 miles, from a dealer, full service history, and mint cream interior which is hard enough to get in the first place, i thought it was well worth it.
But i have no intention of selling the car, i will never get it back out, so when it gets a bit old its going into the byre.

Re: Another bargain!
I still don't understand why we have such low prices for used cars.
My Coupe would be worth between 5,000 and 10,000 Euros in France, even with the steering wheel being on the right side and not the left.

Re: Another bargain!
I didnt mind the price i paid for my car, i was after a 406, i wanted a cream interior and blue paint, that exec was there with low miles and from a dealer.
So i may have paid a bit more than normal but i did get the car i wanted it even come free with peeling lacquer.

Re: Another bargain!
Would rather have had peeling Laquer than mine that came with a good dose of Ferrous Oxide on the doors.

Re: Another bargain!
i think so, peeling lacquer compared to that is only a niggle, and only on one door.
As for the parking dents, i seem to have sustained them, from dozy plonkers slamming their doors into mine.
Now i park my car away from others, do you ever find it strange how sometimes in car parks you have tonnes of empty spaces but yet some tit comes and parks the car right beside, i had this one day he looked as if he was preparing to get a nice dent in my car, i reversed out and parked a number of spaces down.

This happened the other day in the Forestside basement car park.
Parked a wee bit away from the cluster of cars parked, came back, and a bloody big Lexus 4x4 parked right beside mine. And I mean - right beside. Barely room for the passenger door to open. I swear there is a small dent in the door shoulder line.
Plenty of spaces, not like they had to, just some numbnuts who buys a 4x4 and can't park the bloody thing without another car for reference

Re: Another bargain!
It always used to bug me when I'd see a car parked over 2 spaces, or right on the line in their space so that nothin could get in the gap. But then you look at the dents in your doors & understand why they do it.

Re: Another bargain!
Why does people see the need to park beside eachother?
It there some sort of communal thing going on, is it anti social not to want to be in the cluster of cars at the car park.
The best place in a carpark and it can be hard to get, if you find 2 cars parked beside eachother but yet a huge enough gap between them for you to fit and still open the doors, thats the place.
Although in typical car park psycology some fecker in a smart would squeeze in to delever the dents.

Re: Another bargain!
I remember when the Smart first came out, one of the advertisements showed a load of paralell parked cars & this Smart normal reverse parking between 2 of them - in reality, if you came out & found some retard had parked his Smart mm from your bumper like that leaving you no space to get out, you'd batter the car & the owner when he came out.

Re: Another bargain!
I hate Smart cars, they look like:

and the drivers are horrendously smug about their MPG ratings and low tax/insurance.
I would MUCH rather drive something that puts a smile on my face because of the way the car performs, and pay extra for it, than arrive thinking about <cue Jeremy Clarkson's impression of an anally-retentive guy who talks through his adenoids> Ooh, my miles per gallon was sky high, that journey hardly cost me a bean, aren't I so terribly clever.
To which I have to say:
GET A REAL f*cking CAR.
</soapbox>

Re: Another bargain!
Parking a SmartCar sideways is illegal in the UK.
Hate those <certain German car marque
> drivers that take up 2 spaces in a crowded car park.
Or the ones that park up in disabled spot, then stroll out of the car perfectly healthy. Ignorance.
