well set out doing my disc and pads today

only 1 side was a sucess and thats because jasper undid the T55 torx bolts holding the caliper on.

the other side i could not budge because i dont have the right bit for my half inch drive ratchet.

so monday morning i need to buy a half inch drive socket bit with a T55 in the end to get my big ratchet on it.

dont cars just piss you off.

oh well least 1 side as a new disc and pads on

Gary, are they supposed to go on like that, or was you supposed to peel sections out?

i have all sizes upto T55 but not half inch drive.

there all 3/8 drives. not enough muscle in them to undo the caliper bolts.

I had that issue week before last, tried to get the caliper bolts out but mines a 1/4 drive. I didnt want to risk damaging my ratches so decided against a pipe.

Got a 'Laser' set from the local factors when I did my brakes - up to T30 1/4" drive, T40-55 are 3/8" & T60 is 1/2", for about £14.

Used the middle sized ones with 1/2" breaker bar + 1/2 x 3/8 impact adapter, without any problems.

I did mine with a T30 yesterday. Is it a rear one you are doing? If it is, try to close the door as much as you can get away with before you unscrew it from the pillar - makes it a lot easier to wiggle through the tiny little hole in the door!
