Use auto silicone that's paintable! Acids in ordinary silicones ruin the paint.

ok thanks for that, supose it doesnt matter really no1 will ever see it traped behind the lights

indeed it does, i was recommended not to do it but rather use a 'flexible body sealant' because silicone causes rust, but even so i just slapped in a bit of waxol and used the silicone which has solved the problem

i just used ordinary silicone because it may ruin the paint but its in a hidden area, and its waxoled so the rust will be stopped

can you get new seals for the lights, its not the actual bit that touches the paintwork thats letting water in

the water is running under the seal on the inside of it,

ive just this minute siliconed on the inside on the light itself, i dont think it needs silicone on the cars paint side
