Hi folks,
Ive recently bought a 1.9td for a bargain price, but there are a few problems with it.
Firstly ive gotta do the front wheel bearing, how difficult a job is it and are any special tools needed?
Also, ive got an awful rattle/squeek coming from towards the fan belt area. It is constantly noisy, squeeking and rattling, however when i turn the steering wheel and hold it (ie- putting pressure on the ps pump) the noise stops. Im guessing a tensioner somewhere, or crank pulley??? Also, from that i could see when i had a quick look today, the belt doesnt seem to be running true, it seems to be twisting ever so slightly.
Apart from that its a good car, cant complain really at the price, having said that, it has done.... 234'000 miles lol!!!

Re: few problems with new 1.9td
Tensioner, crank pulley, is the belt on all the pulleys properly?
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!
