Re: Left speaker cutting in and out
Dodgy wiring either where it conencts to the speaker, where the wire goes into the door (as it has to bent when you open the door) or in the back of the radio itself

Re: Left speaker cutting in and out
Had this in an Alfa, turned out to be the wire going into the connector into the back of the radio was loose.
Bit of solder and alls well.

Re: Left speaker cutting in and out
i checked the connection into the speaker and it looks ok, so ill have to try the connection in the stereo, how do you get the sri tape/radio with cd changer unit out? when you lift the tape flap there are 2 holes either side, is this where you poke?

Re: Left speaker cutting in and out
The front speakers on my D8 were intermittent, it seemed like it was the speaker itself, rather than the stereo. I checked the wiring of course, and had to rewire it 'cos the left channel was the front speakers and the right channel was the rears (which were missing
) Replaced with some el cheapo Sonys and everything was fine.
You probably meant to use some sort of tool to get the stereo out, I have a selection but anything that fits in the holes should do the trick (exit one coat hanger)

Re: Left speaker cutting in and out
i may just change the speakers then, but aftermarket components will be tricky to install wont they? especially with standard stereo?

Not really, you'll probably have to change the connectors (do speakers still come with speaker wire? If so they'll have the connectors, all you do is clip them off, clip off the standard jobbies and joint the two together), just watch which way around the go (should have +&- stamped into them near the connections)
