Hi Fi Headaches Retro Fitting Speakers And Headunit

Post by ScotsDude »

having fitted my kenwood headunit and sliding in a pair of 10 by 7s in the parcel shelf i thought my work was done, but no talk about problems lol.
First off i cant get the headunit to hold settings after ignition is turned off.
Secondly the rear speakers have no real volume at all,i just used the wires already there and to get even volume in the back compared to the front i have to nearly fade the front speakers out,i have trid to wire the rears direct to the headunit and take out the cars wires but still the same, does the amp tucked away in the boot have anything to do with this and does anyone know how to fix it?.I
have also fitted twin 12 inch subs and 1000 watt amp but they work no problems as amp wired direct to battery and sub to headunit.
Oh and i have been told that i cant get an adapter so i can get the display from headunit to work on multi function display either because my headunit is remote controlled,is this true?.my cars a 406 exec year 2000,thanks in advance :)
