At the moment I'm using Poorboys Black Hole (there's a version for pale colours too) and Bouncers Fortify wax -- which supplied by waxman on here. It's a lot of work to apply but the Black Hole gives it a really deep glossy look, and the wax seems to be good for at least 6 months.

I also have Poorboys wheel wax on the alloys, and although they get just as mucky it's now relatively effortless to clean them.

Cheers RWB for the comments

I'd say that product is not too bad for a generic wash/clean routine but it you are after a real 'wet look' finish to the car then a wax is the way forward due to the carnauba and oils that you'll find in them.

A lot of these products are synthetic and silicone heavy i.e greased lightning etc. - Whilst they may look good on initial application they will not offer the protection that you need - and it's the protection that keeps the car looking cleaner for longer.

The question is, how often do you fully wash the car ? - If it's often then these products may suffice, if you leave it a bit longer then you'll notice the dirt starting to creep back in.

Thanks..

I wash my cars very often..mainly because its garaged..
It seems to collect alot of dust in there.

I've been using 'dodo 'wax' ..panel pots.
I'm still confused about what the colour of them is about mind..they seem to all do the same job.

Wouid 'using some sort of 'sealant be better rather than wax..

There has been tests on colour charged waxes.

There *may* be a slight alteration after about 6+ layers but it won't last. - Basically a colour wax won't affect the appearance of your car in terms of adding to it.

A sealant is good as it add a harder wearing bond to the paint over a natural wax product.

The sealant finish will leave a more 'sterile' sharper finish and some of them can be hard to apply ( certain temperature ranges ).

Or you could go for a 'hybrid' product. Where you get the look of a nuba wax but the strength of sealant 8)

Update..I tried this stuff out..from halfords..

Its not bad stuff but it isn't worth 18 quid..
Very small bottle and it comes out water'y..so it won't last long..

Same effect as using that liquid ice stuff..strangely theyve stopped selling that..
Shame as its good on plastic and glass.. :(
