Ooops, missed the MOT!

Post by DaiRees »

Was servicing the wife's Fucus yesterday when it occurred to me that the MOT must be due soon, I seem to recall it being due in April. Sent her to check and, yup, due in April...... on the 1st (aren't we fools!) . Guess I need to find somewhere that'll do it tomorrow then! Got a really busy day at work too!

That's 48 years of owning and running cars between us and we've never missed an MOT before, must be getting old! :( Why don't they do MOT reminders like Tax reminders? :supafrisk:

I agree, what MOT garages should do is give you a piece of paper with the due date of the MOT on it, that you can use as a reference for next year......

It's the best way to do it... Dai can write MOT due ../4/2015 on his 2014 callender then on new years day recycle this years callender and forget all about everything he wrote on the old one... Then we'll have a groundhog day thread a year from today.

They're hard to get hold of here (make that impossible) but what you need is a calendar that has space next to the dates for writing stuff like MOT dates, insewerants whatever, plus birthdays or important anniversaries. When you start a new one you can go through the old one and transfer everything into it. As your MOT was on April 1st I'd stick a note on March 31st to say the MOT's coming up, just so it appears on the previous month and you don't turn the page to a nice surprise.

I absolutely cannot remember dates: Wedding anniversary? Umm, October maybe? Wife's birthday? May the umm, 8th? 10th? Around there somewhere

If your MOT's the 1st of April, there's no earthly reason you wouldn't put it in on the 1st March, it's not as if it's a national holiday or anything.
