Picasso Instrument Cluster

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Picasso Instrument Cluster

Post by GingerMagic »

Does anyone know if the instrument cluster on a Citroen Picasso ( 2002 model ) actually stores the mileage along with the BSI like the 406 does, or can it simply be swapped...?

I set mine, well the wifes, on fire today when I changed the bulbs with what turned out to be inferior quality ones......

Now she can't see the speedo or fuel gauge but at least she knows what radio station she is listening too....

Thanks, Kelv.

Who's popular now then?

Sounds like you have no choice anyway, you'll have to swap clusters and see what goes. I suspect the mileage is stored elsewhere otherwise unscrupulous folk could play swap-the-cluster and gain £££££'s in sales.

If the C5's anything to go by, it'll be just like the 406 :(

Tsk, been away from PSA-land too long? :P The mileage is stored in the cluster and the BSI. If they don't match, they'll display the sum of both mileages. e.g.. fit a cluster with 200k on it to a BSI with 100k on it, and it'll show 300k. What I don't know/can't remember is if it's a permanent thing, or if it can be reversed.

oops

There are (or used to be) folk what go around 'correcting' electronic mileages on cars for just this kinda scenario, course there's no other reason why someone would want the mileage changing oh no there isn't.......

Ginger might have to go ask on the Citroen Forum

Good luck.

I have posted a few times on the French Car Forum but I rarely get any response to any question - thats why I ask you excellent forum folk for help / suggestions...

I will check stock in my local scrapyard and see if they have any Picassos there, may as well make a day of it and fill my pockets with bulbs and electrovalves etc.... :supafrisk:

When I changed the cluster on my old 52 plate Rapier it didn't take the sum of the two mileages just displayed the higher of the two.
