I think Stu did his too, I believe he said the trim cost £80 from Peugeot?
I know what you mean, mine also lets the side down too - common thing to look nasty on a 406 I have heard........
I believe we're talking about the same bit

£80 was for the whole piece (including the moulding) that goes at the bottom of the estate tailgate. You can get the chrome strip from Peugeot, but it's still expensive compared with a couple of rolls from Ebay for under £10. Don't forget that the bumper strips are slightly wider than those that are on the doors.

I looked at those but could never find some the right width. I had a saved search going and tried people breaking them, but they were either already had it or silly money.
eventually decided that the corrosion didn't bother me enough to pay out for new strips.

Just to add, I bought some cheap stick on chrome tape to cover my old chrome strips ( before I got donor car ) and it worked a treat on the side doors and the bootlid, but was pants on the corners of the bumper because the strip is curved and radius, so was a bugger to get right without creases... As the sticky tape was quite thin and chrome, it showed every bump that was underneath. Peeled it off in the end.....
10mm for the doors, 15mm for the bumpers and tailgate - just for the record.
Maybe some better quality coloured strips would be nice but couldn't decide what colour so figured its not really important enough at the moment.
