You always get turned down on the first DLA app its common,

iclaimed it a few years back (secret is filling the forms in properly: give as much info as you can
take your time filling the form in its Stress full, (so fill it in over a 2 day process to give your self time to think the questions through properly,

(Some of the Questions: are trick questions, but worded differntly :you will notice that your repeating your self Hence why you shouid take your time filling it out
dont rush it as if they dont get the info they need they can send out a specialist to visit you to gather info and make an assment )

if you dont like filling forms in then, someone from the C.A.B will help with that

Well i got a big folder full of A4 sized documents probably about 300 sheets of my evidence since all this started so i won't have to think much to fill the forms in.

It dont work like that scotty :(

isent off all the reports from the doctors etc, on the first App. Result (lost in post, even tho it was sent recorded)
2nd app Refused,
3rd app,. Missing infomation, result Vistit from specialist doctor who came from liverpool, (Arogant old bastid he was)
Who asks you to walk up your stairs, he stands and watches you walk up 3 or 4 steps,
That got refused,

iapplied again and got full rate Mobility and middle rate care or what ever it was, iwas realy ill at that time couidnt walk after recovering from an opp that went wrong,

Seriously they can get round all the medical evidence stuff, (theyre crafty)
go see someone at the C.A.B they will sort it for you

I've had DLA for years now, mobility and care and yes the questions are open to interpretation. I was first awarded it for 3 years, then another 3 years, and then another 3 years, and then indefinetly. I was turned down at first so I reapplied and was awarded it, but, ESA is different to DLA and there doesn't seem to be an if you've got one you get the other attitude by the DWP. Have you claimed carers? My wife is my carer as she looks after me for more than 16 hrs a week. Very quick to award this usually only a couple of weeks.
Well done at tribunal, how many points did you get? I went from 6 to 27. How do ATOS get it so wrong. It's a great feeling though when you win. :D
Don't forget that it's all going to change again soon though with this universal credit so no doubt we'll have to do it all over again.
1999 406 HDi 2.0 110 GTX Estate. 48k when bought, now 150K. Second owner, I've covered over 100k in it.
Clutch changed @110k, bottom pulley changed, cam belt changed, EGR blanked, cat removed, front springs changed.

I was awarded 6 by atos then another 12 by the tribunal they've recommended they leave me alone for 12 months and yes it's a great feeling to win the fight :cheesy: not tried for carers my wife works and i assumed we couldn't get but i been told otherwise today.

I don't think there is a if you've got one you get the other attitude either that's why I'm thinking of going for it, and I've heard that with my wife working I'll lose my esa anyway not sure if there's any truth in that any idea? or is that the universal credit thing you mentioned?
