Brake Pad warning light

Can't see it on service box, is there a chance mine would have it? Haven't got the manual handy to check.
1997 2 litre GLX 4dr now dead!

My 1997 GLX has a brake pad warning light so yours should, I very much doubt the diesel got one and not the petrol.
