IM wanting to know this too, all suspension components are listed something like up to 99 and 99 onwards, so you would think they would be different. maybe the differences are only valving and springs rates :?:
Is there a weight difference between the D8 and D9 i wonder :?:

Why not? There's only 2 different rear shock absorbers across all 406 saloons, regardless of them being D8 or D9.

What? What's not to get? There's only two different rear shocks throughout all 406s - presumably Mr Softy for low power output and Mr Stiffy for higher outputs.

There's also 2 for D8 coupes but only 1 for D9s, and only one for all estates.

I'd imagine so as it's probably going to carry more loads, although the suspension on mine is fairly soft on the back. It's difficult to tell the difference just looking at arbitrary part numbers though, the saloon's might be all limp and floppy by comparison but I don't know 'cos I've never been near one.

Ive been looking at vauxhall omega estate rear shox and they look very similar to the pug shox, now with the omega weighing 250KG more the the pug, that would make them a good upgrade 8)
I must get down the scrap yard and pull one of each off and see what they fit like on, the length may be an issue.
worth a shot though for a laugh, if they fit okay il get some new ones to try.
