Re: intercooler
well you could stick on a intercooler, but it's going to make no real difference unless you remap your ecu

Re: intercooler
An intercooler alone will do nothing in fact it'd be worse with increase turbo lag etc.
It is there to keep a lid on inlet (charge) temps. There seems to be a rule of thumb with turbo diesels where anything over 100 bhp will need an intercooler (especially on hot days) to stop the performance dropping off and the engine smoking etc. it's all linked to the Kilo Wattage of heat output and exhaust temps etc etc.....
The 90 responds well to a simple remap and 120 bhp is achievable without an intercooler.

Re: intercooler
thanks for that will look into it price wise. Ive just done the 20 second mod and disconnected my egr made a hell of a difference nice one no fault codes yet

Re: intercooler
well said welly, unless your thinking about trying to bring the engine up to the 140hp+ mark a intercooler isn't going to make a major difference

Re: intercooler
however if you read the post by lazarus79, where a intercooler was fitted to a 90hp it says Increase in power between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm, so maybe a intercooler would be a good jobjohn1412 wrote:well said welly, unless your thinking about trying to bring the engine up to the 140hp+ mark a intercooler isn't going to make a major difference

Re: intercooler
yeah i've just read it but the ecu disconnected has made such a difference i'm not sure i want to now it really is amazing gets too turbo range much faster doesn't drop so many revs on gearchange so no real lag hills no longer a chore and co. durham has lots will see what is like with trailer on then see if i need a remap or something but i love quick fixes lovely cars aren't they
