Fun, until you end up on your roof...

And this morning:
Image

I woke up for a pišš in the early hours and there was a good 6"+ on the car. When I got up proper it was blowing a gale and my wife was already out clearing the terrace. Then she managed to break her snow shovel, it's only a little thing anyway and won't be missed, so out I marched, grabbed the big boy's snow shovel and.. immediately broke it - is someone trying to tell us something? It's all drifts, hardly anything in some places and over my knees in others. What fun?

Off to find some glue...

Looked like a blizzard here as I looked outside at 7 am yesterday, thought I might have to dig the car out, but it wasn't lying at all. :)

Didn't last and we even had some sun later.

Been nice today too, which is just as well as I've nearly finished teaching myself 307 gear change cables.

Global warming isn't supposed to mean it gets warmer everywhere, just all the weather patterns go bananas.

I was trying to clear a path up to the wood pile, I gave up about half way because it was taking ages and the wind was filling it in behind me :( I had to wade up there for an armful instead.

No,at begining it was about our planet getting warmer, but when it started to get colder, they rename it as climate change...I belive more in that theory about planet following Sun activity.

The average temperature is going up (hence the ice caps getting smaller) but I reckon "warming" just sounds stupid as it's actually colder in a lot of places (especially in Northern Europe if they loose the Gulf stream...) so they just started saying "climate change" instead.

Solar activity, yes, but I don't think we've been helping much.

We saw a Lada close up in the supermarket carpark earlier - aren't they small? Apparently the 'orrible purple colour is called "Jasper" :cheesy:

My Mrs keep saying what about getting a Dacia, seeing as how her sister's has never had any problems. Dacia? That's Renault isn't it? Expect poor build, lousy electrics and thirsty, fragile engines. They do a 4x4 though, and I figure it's not Germ man or Crapanese so why not consider one? What's it called? Dirtbag? Dustbin? Ah, Duster  So I look at what's up for sale and almost all the petrols are 2wd - what is this stupid fixation with faux 4x4s? May as well buy a Ferrari with a lawnmower engine in it

One of the guys at work has an 08 Lagona 1.5 DCi, which he reckons is OK. Seemed not bad from the passenger seat....

Guess you could keep it a long time if it isn't too agricultural. Oh, hang on....

Goran's brother has a fairly new Migraine (I think it's a petrol) and he's lost count of the amount of niggley little problems it's head, including the big panic just after he bought it when he found oil in the coolant, which turned out to be a duff seal on the oil filter head.

Back once again... After "resetting" the emissions warnings 15 times now (that's more than once a day since getting it back) and I'm getting sick of it. I've had a look at the connections and the earths but nothing has changed. Thinking about, the usual fault with these is the lambda heaters and that usually stays off after reconnecting the battery for a good few kilometers, so I suspect this isn't the issue here and it's the readings from the lambda that are the problem. The last guy to look at it seemed to get a lot further with it than anyone else but he says he needs another lambda to eliminate it before he can look any further. So bugger it, I may as well go back to World Car Parts for another, I don't suppose it'll turn up until the new year now but if it does prove this one's faulty then I''ll get most of my money back and if it doesn't clear the fault then I can sell it (maybe even at a profit).

Meanwhile, the snow is mostly gone, there's just heaps of it here and there where it was deepest. I was at my mate's workshop Saturday to sort out a pc (dead monitor) and when I got there they were servicing a fairly new C3 HDi - the fuel filters on these are a sealed unit  You have to disconnect the whole thing and chuck it in the bin and they cost about 50€ apparently. After that they had an old Audi 100 which needed the lock changing on the passenger door. To get to it they had to take the window off, all the workings of which are on a panel bolted to the inside of the door and also incorporates the window frame

Going...
Image

...going...
Image

...gone.
Image

Once that's off the whole door is open and you can get to everything with not a drop of blood spilt :? Weird huh?
