Steve you say the instructions in Haynes are crap :shock: please explain as I was gonna do my adjusters today

Haynes says you need to leave so much play in the cable and back the adjusters off by 6 feet... I did mine like it was a real (Austin-Rustbucket) Mini. Jasper's way is more-or-less the same: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8239&p=79411&hilit= ... ake#p79411

I need to run though the procedure again, new cables must have stretched a little since I fitted them.

Just realised you are in Lancashire, Robb...If you don't get your handbrake fixed let me know and I'll come and have a look for you sometime, I'm in East Lancashire.

Hi guys had a look at the handbrake tightened up the three way adjuster thinggummy the handbrake works much better now but I think the cables are a bit stretched .fancy hiding the adjuster behind the heatshield :frown: Jasper thanks for the offer always good to know theres a puggish mechanic around. :wink:
