It's funny, when I was looking at it before I couldn't see anything that said how to join, now I spotted it straight away (top r/h corner to all those blind buggers like me)

I've never made a brand new Wiki site from scratch before, just edited some pages (my first being Wikipedia's entry for the Dounreay Nuclear Power Station in Caithness, near where I used to live - the article no longer looks anything like it did when I made it though as others have been busily editing it!)
Nutski, you've done some fantastic work on this - don't sell yourself short, this Wiki is a great idea and you're doing a sterling job making it happen!

Clicks "XUD11 BTE" - "To create the page, start typing in the box below" Hmm. Clicks "see the help page for more info" - "To create the page, start typing in the box below" Runs off screaming.

Cool - I just added an arbitary (read - empty ) knowledge base to the front page. Just some categories as a starter (though they're not proper Wiki categories (yet), I still need to figure out how to make those!)

Lol
Editing Wikis does require a little bit of special formatting to get links and tables (etc) to appear, but when you see that empty white box, you can type raw text into the box (no formatting tags at all) then click "Preview" and you'll see what you typed. If you like it, click "Save" and it'll stay there.

OK, I'm all registered. Will have a look later, got an exam to revise for just now.
Question: can we just lift stuff from Wikipedia and/or other websites? Presumably if so we'd need to credit/cite the source but do we need to obtain written permission too?
