Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
Bought my 406 HDi 90 2.5 years ago for £800 as it was all I could afford after spending literally thousands trying to repair a dodgy Focus 2.0 TDCi. Currently on 164k miles -- nothing huge but she's given me 11,000 miles of trips away on holidays, trips fetching timber/sheet materials and endless commutes to work and back.
Two MOTs so far and both for £450 each time. First one was for welding around the seat belt achorage point, plus some repair work to the rear brakes. The last MOT was for some suspension components I had to order from France, plus a new seatbelt (‘new’ from a 1999 406 in the local scrappy…)
I’ve not had to do much to keep her road-worthy. A new starter motor, a couple of split pipes, plus a few replacement consumables. I also change the oil every 3k but that comes from owning a much older car. Everybody comments on how smooth and quiet the ride is.
