There seems to be some engine power lag at times. On a slight incline it doesn't really get going until about 3000 rpm, then it's hold on to your hat time as something kicks in and it rapidly picks up. When going slower, especially when cold or warming up, I can hear the turbo whistling. Just wondered if anyone has had similar or knows the probable cause.
It's a bit like the engine is too retarded. It does have that injector clatter issue too. Could that be part of the cause?
ENGINE LAG, POWER LOW

Re: ENGINE LAG, POWER LOW
Sounds as though you have a leak in or loose fitting pipe from the turbo to the intercooler, that would account for being able to hear the turbo and the lack of power.
Even if it looks OK check it for tightness because if its not clamped tightly it can move away from the fitting under pressure.

Could also be a worn MAF sensor.
Unplug it and see if it improves things.
The MAF is screwed to the air box, you can unplug the grey connector by feeling for a little tab underneath.
