Egr delete on hdi 90bhp

Post by Gilly »

Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been covered before, is the delete the same for the 90bhp as the 110bhp? A simple vacuum pipe block...

Can someone point me in the right direction as to what to do?

Do I need to get any codes/lights turned off on the dash if I do delete the egr?

Many thanks for your help,
Andrew

Yep,
Just the same & no light as long as you leave the solenoid connected electrically.

It's better to blank off using blanking plates,
also clean out as much muck as you can from the inlet due to the egr

The 90 is exactly the same, just less solenoids on the bulkhead ( I think you only have 2 )

Hey diesel, sorry to sound stupid. Do I simply take the vacuum pipe off the egr and block the vacuum pipe? What about the exposed nipple on the side of the egr?

Many thanks!

You are correct.
Just block the end of the pipe - the EGR is vacuum controlled so without the vacuum pipe attached it cannot open...
However, they have been known to jam slightly open ( due to deposits stuck in the valve ) so the blanking plate will eliminate this potential issue.

Blanking plates available on eBay, or you can just make one out if some old thin metal....

Is there any tell tale signs of an egr stuck open?
