camshaft timing problems

Post by bomber »

hi,

New to this page,
Iv got a problem with my 406 HDI 90bhp.
Just yesterday the aux belt ripped to pieces and wrapped itself around the crank pulley jumping the timing.
Today I managed to get it on a lift and release the belt and realign the cam and crank, but the car wont start, just turns over slowly.
I think the problem is the aligning of the cam but I could be wrong.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi.
and welcome to the forum,
if the Timing is correct, you might be best taking the 'Rocker cover off and have alook see if any of the Follow'ers got took out
when the timing Slipped, normaly they are what go first before the Valve's.

Also if you havent fitted a new cam belt, inspect the belt, look for amissing tooth/damage.. on the belt

Cheers lozz,

I was afraid that it would be something under the rocket cover,
going to inspect it tomorrow and find out.
Thanks again.
