How do you get round the seat belt warning on the volvos?
any one know,?

The Volvo forum is a bit guarded by the regulars but there is some useful help on there. The seat belt warning is a bit of a pain but then we should be wearing it so I just do as it says

My fathers had uprated roll bars, strut brace and was dropped 20mm standard!

I'm convinced Ford somehow tried to mature the handling of the V50/S40/C30 and in the proccess ruined one of the best handling cars in its class! Shame really.

They did, it's basically the same platform and running gear as a Focus ST but driving the two cars you would never know. The Volvo was watered-down this IPD bar I keep going on about completely transforms the car and is the best modification you can do for the money (it's not a boy-racer mod either it's an engineering improvement).

ive read on the net somewhere, that the seat belt system in the volvos is desighned by ford,

so if it is there must be a way of deactivating it carnt rember how you do it on fords tho to try see if it works,

The seat belt warning goes off when you plug the belt in, if you're driving alone you could pull the passenger belt over and plug that in yours?

Mine starts bleeping softly at first and then uses the stereo speakers to give you a much louder bleeping

I've put shopping on the passenger seat and set the warning off

A mate of mine's dad used to have an Austin Ambassador, (nee Princess), with a really annoying seat belt warning system. Spent it's entire, (short), life with both front seat belts stretched over the seat backrests then into the receptacles by the handbrake....

on our vans there has been a wire under the seat that goes to the bit where the clip fits, unplugging that stops the seatbelt warning. Doubt it will work on the volvo but might be worth a try. The sprinters we have just put a light on the dash for a few seconds notifying you about not wearing a belt, but no annoying bongs.Before we found out about unplugging the wire a few of the other drivers went to a scrappy and cut the clip off and just plugged an empty clip in
