My SJ was pretty badly bodged when I got it, Suzukis do suffer quite badly from tin worm. However it's the bodywork that rots, not the chassis, it's very rare to find a Suzuki with a rusty chassis.

Its probably right, the two rotten chassis ones were used to put a boat out at the seaside, my SJ's chassis is mint without any rust at all, but it does feel like it has a coat of sealant or waxoyl on it which has helped. This is the opposite to a defender the bodies don't rot at all but the chassis can be crap.
Though the body is as strong as burnt paper :cheesy: , do you know how to get the wings off, the bolts have come off but some bit round the battery box is clinging on?

The pictures of your repairs were most impressive. I'd be well up for that if I could be up for anything :(

So tell me, when you slam the brakes on and the body separates from the chassis, which bit do you end up in?

No reason really http://www.njuskalo.hr/auti/jeep-cherok ... as-3728035 No, none at all.

Holy sills Batman, I just realised this thread got to 12 pages now  Do I win a prize for the longest, most boring thread in the history of this forum or what??? :cheesy:

Excellent, I get to waffle on interminably

I've emailed Goran to see what the cost of spares is like here, I'd be mad to buy something I can't afford to maintain. I had a look on Honest John and it's bordering on "too long" again, so I'd need to take the wife to Pula for a trial fitting. Plus there's the usual plethora of worrying stuff that goes wrong with them. I thought for a while that the 2.4 wasn't imported to GB but it turns out they were discontinued early on for not being powerful enough  But then of course people usually buy these stupid tanks in auto, so perhaps a manual wouldn't be so gutless. Hmm, 0-60 in 13.6, 26mpg, weight - oh my gawd, it's 2 tons

The fuel consumption isn't that much of a consideration, seeing how little I've been doing in the Pug of late. I still can't imagine any of it being cheap though.

Ohh looky, one of them Nissan Squashies has finally fallen into my price bracket http://www.njuskalo.hr/auti/nissan-qash ... as-3979880 :cheesy:

Oh god, are you actually reading those? Don't take them too seriously, when you fill in the ad all that stuff is little ticky boxes and I'm sure some of these dolts have epileptic seizures while they're doing them. I never did see the bi-xenon lights on that Vitara and that 3 year guarantee on that RAV, well, I don't think so. Some of them have subtexts too - "prepared for hifi stereo equipment" (we're too cheap to give you the radio with it) and "prepared for mobile telephone equipment" (it has dozens of holes drilled in the dash) spring to mind. They almost always describe the car as "perfect", even some of the crap I've looked at, so I'd hate to see anything that wasn't

Number of doors: 5 (but one is tied shut with string)
Security against theft: It only drives in circles.

I noticed that 'prepared for' sh*t and wondered wtf they meant

Of course, my Volvo is 'prepared for' a full race spec 500bhp track car it's just that I haven't done it yet, like, so it's just standard really :)

Prepared for burial at sea.... Whenever I see that "just needs---" bollocks on gumtree I keep seeing Jeremy Clarkson sitting on a pile of rust that used to be a Lancia Beta...

Hello, my name is Steve and I have a thinking problem: I've been thinking about a Freelander TD4 all afternoon - please help me come to my senses :supafrisk:

the latest freelander isn't too bad, the early ones were just trouble, thats before going on about the engines, the petrols were all k series engines so they don't last forever.
