Well the car is at the local Garage at the moment, should have it back in a few hours, dropped it off for them to figure out whats wrong with it, told em exactly whats been happening and what i know whats wrong with the car...

Heres hoping its not an expensive repair job...... gotta have the fan belt done soon as well as its beginning to slip and squeak

Well just got back from the garage and they cant find anything wrong with the car at all, no leaks, bugger all apart from the aircon rad having a bow in it the car is perfectly fine...

im guessing its just the cold weather thats causing the low temps and increased fuel usage then?

Well ive been away and done a little research about this and i think I might have stumbled across the cause of the problems

recently I went to another garage (Mr Tyre Stafford Road W-Ton) and within a few mins they said what they thought it could be (they said its possibly the thermostat or the temp sensors, typically the temp sensors where dealer only so i went to Hilton Peugeot W-Ton and got both temp sensors as i didnt know which one could be buggered. These got fitted yesterday, while using the car again today there was no change in the temps of the engine (still around 70c ish) but going upto 80-90 while is slow moving/standing traffic.

So i got back home and while looking in my Haynes manual for the correct mixture for my antifreeze (as my engine light has started to flicker at random times) I came across the cooling and heating section of the car and low and behold i saw the section about the temp sensers and the thermostat. After reading both sections im 99% certain the thermostat is the problem!1

Im actully rather chuffed with myself as i know bugger all about cars :) :)

So im off to get a new thermostat from my local parts shop tomorrow (gonna get as close to OEM as i can) and get it fitted :)

heres a pic of what got replaced the other day
