Bearing in mind the age & mileage of most of our cars & how fragile French machinery is to start with, that could be a recipe for disaster...

I'd be interested to see what power our engines are, but I know from experience (the SRi130) that it's scary watching the car being thrashed on there.

If your car can't pull a few runs on the Dyno, shouldn't be on the road :P

Did one with Welsh ford and everyones car was fine :) I sh*t myself when mine was on the Dyno, but pulled a respectable 108bhp (99bhp stock, and the engines totally standard  )

Think that confirms my suspicions on how well received a rolling road day would be. It's more for performance enthusiasts than diesel owners, although it would be interesting to see actual figures for the remapped cars.

Reckon the museum/picnic thing pretty much hit the right buttons as most of us are family men & boring old farts really.

This :arrowu: :D

I think we had present just about every permutation of 406 diesel.
On one hand it would have been brilliant to get some statistics on them. (I reckon I had the slowest :D )
On the other hand, we also have to get them all home in one piece.

The statistics I'm most interested in, though, are MPG and total cost of ownership per mile, and you can't get those off a rolling road.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Agreed, I'm not bothered what my car can do as long as it runs reliably!

maybe so but my diesel very rarely revs over 3500 and i change gear at low revs so finding out my car has 1000bhp at 6000 revs is a waste of time for me as in the real world it means nothing
the only time it revs high is when that nasty mot man revs the guts out of it.

I must've missed that when I was chasing Jack around.

Feel I should apologise to everyone actually as I may have seemed a bit anti-social as I didn't really get that much chance to chat to everybody up there were I was too busy with the little man. Think the longest I got to chat to anyone was Captain Jack first thing in the morning & MJB when he turned up as Jack was filling his face.

I think the parents amongst us can appreciate the fact that young uns can take a bit of looking after, especially if they get bored, so I wouldn't worry about it mate

Fortunately for me, my lad, although albeit being older, really enjoyed the day and thus didn't get bored, and thus cause me grief
I think teamy's kids were more grief as they were into everything in my car :cheesy: :cheesy:
