Looking for an instrument cluster from a relatively low spec D9 as I want the version with the lion in the middle. Saw 2 go on Ebay for less than £10 including postage & got done by less than 20p each time because I was at work when they ended & cheapest ones on there now are £40+. Not worried if the instruments work or not as all I really want is the plastic surround to experiment with - hence the reason I'm being cheap about it!
If what I'm planning works, I'll post some pictures up.
Out of curiosity though, if you plug a 5 dial cluster into a car that originally only had the 4, does the oil guage automatically work or does it just do nothing?

Re: *wanted* D9 Instrument Cluster
hi
i have a 99 d9 hdi 110 and ive put rapier clocks in mine ,the oil temp gauge worked straight away so plug n play in my case
the original speedo cluster had 15/ marked at the bottom of the speedo and the replacement cluster had 16/ im guessing its calibrated for 15 " or 16" wheels? anyway i have sat nav checked the speed reading on the new cluster marked 16 with 15" wheels and its about 3 mph over the sat nav reading - before it was about 4-5 mph over so its become a little more accurate!.

Re: *wanted* D9 Instrument Cluster
That's good to know thanks - a friend has Rapier diesel clocks in his petrol GTX & told me I could have them when he gets a petrol set for his, but still might be hesitant about changing because of the mileage problem where the BSi adds them together. His now shows 170k!
Would still like to lay my hands on a set of standard clocks though to see how my little idea turns out.

Ello Again m8
i think i may have a basic cluster somewhere here, with the sq lion thingy in the middle top/ but mileage was circa 214k
what were you going to do with it? i thing i have a 5 dial/ring chrome bit in the shed too..
watch using a petrol cluster as the rev counter red lines much higher than a derv.
re my pp2000 and cruise, i have a spare stalk and can rob my on/off switch to try cruise out when we meet. before we meet get the little bit of carpet out from above the brake, clutch pedals so we can plug the stalk in, cos the connector for cruise stalk, long grey socket from memory.. is near/above clutch lever down low, i remember looking for it under the steering cowling next to where it fits thinking omg no where to plug it in..peugeot logic 4 u!
we can try it with the lever hanging by its wire to see if it works - sure it will!!!just checked... my donor ecu & bsi came from a x reg 2.0 hdi 110 lx and it was there.(v reg original didnt)

Funnily enough I managed to get hold of a basic cluster a few weeks after I posted this, but my experiment was a bit crap. Wanted to paint the lion in chrome, but it came out crap. Quite fancy the idea of fitting the chrome ringed Rapier clocks, but don't fancy screwing the mileage up considering mine has only done 86k.
Cruise plan sounds good. Have taken the bits under the dash apart a couple of times already from when I changed from grey to black.

Re: *wanted* D9 Instrument Cluster - don't need to be workin
When i first bought my 52 plate Rapier it did'nt have an oil light when you turned on the ignition,i bought a secondhand cluster and tried that, still no oil light but it was showing 122k but my car had only done 109k so i decided to put my original cluster back in,the car remembered the higher mileage and put 122k on my original cluster, doh!!!.It did'nt add them together but just left the higher mileage on my cluster and the service interval from the donor car.So i added 13k at a stroke and then found out that my Rapier is'nt supposed to have an oil warning light at ignition stage, double doh!!.I was just lucky that the donor cluster was'nt from a taxi with mega miles. The moral in my case is don't fix what aint broke!!
