Well, this phenomenon will be witnessed by any car which has gone out of production. And the 406 hasn't been made for 4 years now, so it's no surprise. I will keep mine till I can't fix it any more (that is if it ever breaks!) and I am constantly improving it (will be fitting leather door cards this weekend).
It's a real labour of love. I can't wait to get cracking on mine again when we get another semi dry weekend!

I've had a turbulant relationship with my 406 but it's behaved itself perfectly for ages now and I am strangely attached to the thing.

It's bit like an old shoe, a bit scruffy but fits lovely and does it's job :)

I know I will miss it when it's gone.

I will miss mine too when its gone. I got the piss taken out of me off my mates when i first got it, but 2.5 years on they think its a right good car fast, comfortable and reliable. What more could you want? Well actually 50mpg would of been nice

You know my brother asked about that again the other day, I told him it was long gone after all his pissing about.
He still hasn't had a payout on the insurance yet

I'll wait until he's got his payout, it got embarassing being his middle man, I'm sorry about that.
GTi-6 eh? 8)

Seems a bit pointless in the UK, unless you want it for dehumidifying. Like me holding out for a car with a sunroof here, as if I need a sunburned scalp...

It's not so much having 'ice cold' blasting at you but with climate control the air temp regulates nicely with the a/c to stop the interior from slowly rising and then you're opening windows, turning stuff down etc.

I like the 406 climate it's very clever.

Not that the 306 has climate of course :(

it does, otherwise i wouldnt go near it
there are certain things i cant live without, a/c, climate control, auto wipers :cheesy:
and i would say that D9 climate control is rubbish compared to the D8

well ive got about £2k burning a hole in my pocket, i have no idea what i want, theres a nice 607 2.2 hdi executive at work, but i think its out of my price range, plus its very slowwwwwwwwwww
going off the idea of a gti6 as i want something as frugal as my HDi, but as fast, i also want the space of a 406 estate, and the power of a scooby and and and.....
