Oh I don't know, if you could rig a strap to support the engine, remove the top mounts & roll it forward a bit you should get to it?
Correct me if I'm in the wrong; I've not tried that!

Ouch, I can imagine the panic setting in! Reminds me of once crawling half into a cupboard to grab a cable & I couldn't get my shoulders back out [/shivers]

The engine naturally rolls slightly backwards without the top mount and takes *considerable* force to bring forwards. Trust me, I've had that mount off mine many times in the past couple of months :)

I'm going to have to have a look underneath sometime when the weather stops sucking. His turbo's not spooling so I could so with finding out how to give that a poke too :)

Oh I dunno, he's done a hell of a lot of work to it. I can't remember all the details but I'm sure James will chime in!

I honestly think now that the 407 has been around nearly 4 years then this has seriously whacked our poor 406's.

I was happy to pay £3,200.00 for my 99 T' exec in Jan 06 but now it would probably be worth £1,200.00?

Seems that the 406's are only adored by those who have had one before. To everyone else, they're just yesterdays news :(

Well, this phenomenon will be witnessed by any car which has gone out of production. And the 406 hasn't been made for 4 years now, so it's no surprise. I will keep mine till I can't fix it any more (that is if it ever breaks!) and I am constantly improving it (will be fitting leather door cards this weekend).
