Some people just have a way with words, that shines through, even with p1ss-poor translation.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

's ok, I'll live :bottom lip:

The idea of importing one to ring for a pile of junk gets more and more interesting. Shame I don't actually have any money

Oh, serves me right for trying to look stuff up in a Croatian dictionary, I should have known it's German   this is a ler valve:

Speaking of bargains, D8 maintainers have the chance to grab a spare set of clocks here. Look closely before buying, though...

That coupe went almost straight away  The one that looks like it tried to squeeze through a doorway is still up for grabs (and a 2.2 with a blown lump went for about 500 quid on ebay a while back :()

That has been hit *hard*

And 2,500€  you'd get a slightly less mashed up one over here for that and a bus ride home, and some chips.....

Do let me know if this is getting boring. It's the sort of thing you could do back in Blighty. But then, the prices are mad :cheesy:

Peugeot 607 2.2 HDI 2006 5,000€

Peugeot 406 coupe, 2.0 16v, 1999 500€ (that's a bit more realistic!)

(yes, the pics are links as the real pics are massive, make good desktop backgrounds if you so desire :P )

I remember when I was younger, if I had a "double" of a particular model (as occasionally happened as I had hundreds of corgi, matchbox etc. and a lot of aunties etc. who would get me them for birthdays / christmas), it might end up in the vice in the shed for that mangled look.

Sounds a bit destructive but they were doubles and helped me build my own play scrap yard!

Thing is though, not to sound too morbid or bring the tone down, when I worked in the petrol station in my student days you would get to know the regulars, boy racers etc. but usually good customers, would have a bit of banter etc.
One had a fatal crash.
I remember going to the scrap yard a while after for a fusebox for an Orion, and saw his car sitting in two pieces  :(
Disturbed me for a while as to the fate of some of the cars that end up in the scrap yard.

Last year my bother was out here telling my wife how I used to smash his toy cars with a big hammer and informing me just how much they'd be worth now :( Oh come on, they only cost about 25p at the time :?

I've never seen a car I recognise in the breakers but a load of claret on the upholstery really brought it home that they were real cars, driven by real people that sometimes did get hurt.

Oh aye I kick myself especially some of the rarer ones.

Mk4 Cortina - £20

Gave them all away (the ones I hadn't destroyed!) to my cousin when I grew out of them and into other interests (ie. computers). Had a load of lego too!

Definitely. Though I am lucky enough not to have seen a serious accident up close. My dad has just near his old house, an Irish TV presenter about 8 years ago.
