Hi all,
I have an old, original Peugeot exhaust system, it has a catalyst but no O2 sensor, in the car.
This has now started to fail at the welds to the catalyst, is blowing with a little whistle and the soot indicates 3/4 of the pipe is now cracked.
So I have options:
1. Contact Peugeot parts department and see how much a new one is..
2. Buy a type approved BM pipe for £115
3. Buy a non type approved BM pipe for £68
4. Buy a dodgy bypass repair tube for £30-40
5. See if a garage can weld the old one
6. Go to an exhaust center
7. Bodge a bandage and turn the radio up
So I am considering option 2 or 3, but I don't really have experience of these, or if the smaller (non-existent?) cat in the no approved will be too bad.
So could people please write their opinions and experiences?
I remember the Peugoet part fitting perfectly, does the BM one fit well, if I go for that?
Many thanks in advance!
