Gooood morning

Post by egginashed »

Morning all,

I have had to re-register as I couldn't remember what email address or username I used when I joined jere nearly two years ago!

I did try to get back on a few weeks ago when I started recommissioning our 2.2 diesel. Mainly to say an ENORMOUS thanks to everyone who wrote the various KB articles including the timing belt guide.

Now having just removed the DPF innards in an attempt to sort out the sluggish performance I'm now hoping to be a bit more active here.

Next up to get the ECU updated...

Hi and welcome (back) aboard. 8)

Feel free to browse the wealth of information hereabouts.

Mass Air Flow merters, (MAF) are probably the most common cause of sluggish performance on 2.2 HDis

Have a search and see.....
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I would change the MAF anyway if you are recommissioning, along with the air filter.

Sluggish performance on the 2.2hdi is likely to be MAF, DPF or a vacuum leak/solenoid issue - I'm afraid you'll need to tackle one at a time

When I bought my first 2.2hdi it was terrible, but after driving around it seemed to improve on its own, sorting the issues one at a time didn't make an instant eureka moment, but I didn't actually notice when it was better because it was a gradual improvement....

Remaps are available if it's a route you want to go down, I would get your car sorted first. Online generic maps are okay but a custom one is way better.

Good luck
