504 Dingle Dangle on the bay

Post by steve_earwig »

Looks rough as old wotsit, a copy of a Paris Dakar car driven by the most pointless individual in England made for a film. Nonetheless it's real (apart from all the stuff that's just props that is).

Ooh, no fight for a picture this time!

And it's a left-hooker rummages in pocket for loose change

...comes out with a ball of lint I'd have it if it was almost free, sadly there's no chance of me registering it here.

In a daydream about having a classic Pug more interesting than most I just thought I'd check Nuskalo (Sniffer) here for a 504, they sometimes appear, and there is one.

Ohh, I can hear it's Poissy engine rattling from here. Yep yep, I liked those too. My dad had a run of 1100's (same styling) when I was a kid and an 1100 Special (1300) was our school run mobile for a few years. When I was old enough to drive I wanted one but by that time they were all rust buckets. Simcas crop up here from time to time...

Just checking the Wiki, I didn't realise Simca was set up by FIat and the originals were just rebadged Fiats. They ended up as Horizons, Alpines and Solaras (badged as Simcas in these parts). Our neighbour had a Rancho, 1600 fwd but it looked kind of off road and the insurance company charged accordingly. Umm, in the end the doors fell off.

One of my old neighbours had a Talbot Rancho - I loved it's designed but I was an 8 year old at the time....

I do look through the car and classic website - it's a nice user friendly site and can just sit and repeatedly kick myself for not buying an 80s shed which would now be worth loads...! :x

I'm still looking for a nice classic car to cherish*

My dad wishes he still had his Black Shadow... You can't take it all with you on the off chance it'll be worth something some day, life isn't like that sadly.

I just noticed what else they're selling
