Suez Canal needs a good dyno-rodding.

I think this might conceivably not end up on the BBC coverage of this event...

Amazed this hasn't happened before - I've checked the rules: https://www.suezcanal.gov.eg/English/Na ... ation.aspx

No reference whatever to not going through sideways or even a pointy-end-first recommendation.

I blame the canal operator (or whatever colonial power set up this time-bomb in the first place).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I read somewhere it did happen before, a smaller (Japanese?) ship suffered mechanical failure and grounded, it didn't take them long to shift it. This one's massive though. Maybe they'll be able to dredge enough rubbish out the way, if they don't they're going to have to unload it, er, somehow.

Ships were a bit smaller when it was built, it got enbiggened a few years back and actually seems to do ok most of the time..

So, do the rules say anything about drawing a huge cock and balls before plunging in, er, sideways? :supafrisk:
