I'm about 18 miles south of all that, and am in and around Bristol regularly.
Probably means goodbye to my Golf TDI.

If their proposed scrappage scheme of £2000 extended 600 yards over the border from North Somerset
into Somerset...., I'd grab it with both hands. ( Assuming, that is, the offer was cash, rather than
conditional on buying a brand new car )

Absolute nonsese. So my Euro 6 Volvo V40 wouldn't be welcome but I could take my 16 year old 3.0 V6 ST220.

Bit like the London LEZ thing, I can take my 15 year old Volvo petrol into that London but not the Citroen HDi.

WHY THOUGH are there still shitty-arsed Black Cabs in London spewing out visible pollution....and they're exempt from paying the ULEZ charge

This is only going to get worse. I seriously thought about a petrol car before I bought the Citroen in view of the growing number of UK/European cities banning diesels. Probably have to go petrol, leccy or hybrid next time.

Not that I want to, but taking my miniature camper van into the ULEZ would cost me £100.
It's some comfort that it's £165 a year road tax and the Dartford crossing c/w car+trailer is £2.50
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Utter BS. I am going to buy a 1970's Lada with knackered piston rings and drive it around Bristol.

That'll be the real death of High Street. What a way to reduce footfall.

It's all knee jerk stuff, the councils want to be seen to be doing something about polution and, now we've all realised* diesels are dirty polluting bastards, they're the easiest target. What's the saying? Cleaning your windows while your roof is on fire?
