406 lives again.......in China

Post by neildavies »

Just read in the paper that the 406 saloon is being built in China and will be built by a company called Lirpa. It's going to be badged the Sloof (charming name!). Peugeot have sold the tooling for the 406 to the company. It doesn't say, but I'd assume it's the D9. No mention of the coupe or estate, but I know that the Chinese tend to make saloons more than enything else.

So who's going to import one and have the only 07 plate 406!!

And the availability of various badges will mean that we can rebadge a Sloof to Peugeot with ease (a la Poxhaull to Opel)

I'd put money on it being a D8... but the question would have to be what sort of 1100cc engine will it have under the bonnet? :lol:

10 out of 10 for James. But did anybody get the twist of the name?

The car would be a "Lirpa Sloof"

Reverse the words

Lirpa = April
Sloof = Fools

I surpass myself sometimes!! I'm sitting here giggling to myself... simple things and simple minds.

Davies, you're a bad man! :cheesy:

....don't you know you're supposed to get your April fools in before midday. :roll:

There was a good one in the Sunday Telegraph, an ad for a vertical car parking system. Bet that fished a few people in too!
