A bit of a random one?

Post by Benner »

Now I know this is nothing about cars, but I thought I'd ask, as I know we have some clever guys on here (not mentioning any names.......Welton).

I am looking for a career change but I have a few probs.

1. I dont like people so it cant really involve a customer (done that before and people are ar*e holes).

2. I have kids so cant work nights, but would work shifts

3. I have kids so need a decentish wage

4. I dont want to go to uni but am willing to train

5. Could not stand to work in an office.

So from this, and the fact I have always had an interest, I am wanting to work with the dead somehow. This could be cleaning them up off roads etc to, something in a mortuary, I am interested in anything.

So.............. Does anyone have any suggestions of a job in this field? Also where on earth would I look? Have tried the usual, fish4, job centre etc but apart from a funeral director they dont seem to cater for this field of work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See told you it was a random one. :D

i found this one on the jobcentre plus website - http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/Interne ... =WEL/38655
its a bit far away  but it might point you in the right direction . you could go to evening courses in your local college to learn hair and beauty and then ask around your local funeral homes to see if there is any vacancies for ( i dont know the proper name for them ) someone who does the hair and make up on the bodies before the family get to see them .

Hmm, a bit of an odd choice of a career :) Do you really hate the living that much? What skills/qualifications do you have? Maybe there's something for in the land of the living? What about your own business?

Hm, I have a BTEC in electronic engineering, but I am not quite sure what you can do with it as I am not utilising myself and I studied a computer course at uni. NVQ in care would help you become a nurse type thing, but that of course involves working with people (although, they are not the "customers" type and don't go off killing them  ) and pay isn't that great I think. Uhm.... well I am out of ideas... Maybe it would help seeing a decent careers advisor?
